Invoicing software that works without internet
How TAQNIX ERP runs on your own Mac without internet, where your data stays, how backups work and what happens after the 6-month free trial.

Not every shop, office or site has a steady internet line. Even when it does, many owners prefer to keep their accounting data on their own computer. TAQNIX ERP is built for that: it is installed on your Mac and works without internet.
This article explains what that means in daily work, what you still need internet for, and how to keep your data safe.
A program on your own Mac
You download one installer for your Mac, either the Apple chip version or the Intel version. The installer is signed and checked by Apple. After installing, you open TAQNIX ERP from the Applications folder and it opens in your web browser, but the program itself runs on your Mac, not on a distant server.
On the first start, the Mac asks for the administrator password once, to finish the setup, and then the browser opens the setup page where you enter your company details.
What works without internet
Everything you use every day does:
- Tax invoices, receipts, credit and debit notes, quotations, purchase orders and vouchers.
- Customers, vendors, the list of products and services, and the point of sale.
- The VAT return worksheet and the income statement, balance sheet and trial balance.
- Import and export of XLSX and CSV files, and backups.
- The free 6-month trial itself: it does not need to check anything online.
What still needs internet
Downloading a new version of the program from this website needs a connection. If you switch on the optional ZATCA Phase 2 integration, the program must be online to reach ZATCA, and ZATCA’s rules about reporting time apply. Phase 1 invoices with the QR code never need a connection.
To subscribe after the trial you use the Subscription screen inside the program.
Your data stays on your Mac
Your invoices, customers and accounts are stored on your own computer. We do not keep a copy of them on our side. That also means you are the one who protects them: keep your Mac updated, lock it when you leave, and make backups.
Backups and restore
Make a backup regularly, for example at the end of every day or week, and copy the backup file to a USB drive or another place that is not the same Mac. The backup screen lets you create a backup and restore one when you need it, for example on a new Mac.
Do the same for the security keys file that the program asks you to save at the end of the first setup. The backup holds your data; the keys file lets you keep signing e-invoices if you ever work on another computer.
After the free trial
The free trial lasts 6 months and starts when you set up your company. After it ends, or when a subscription ends, the program becomes read-only: you can still open, search and print everything you entered, but you cannot add new entries until you subscribe. Your data is never deleted.
You subscribe inside the program, on the Subscription screen, and it is possible to do that on the day you choose.
Who it suits
It suits a small shop, a workshop, a clinic or an office that wants invoices and VAT on one Mac. If you need several people working on the same books from different places over the internet, the cloud workspace on this site is the better fit; the Mac program is the offline one. A Windows version is coming, and we will announce it on the download page.
Try it
Download, install, and enter a few invoices with sample data. Nothing is lost if you close the Mac or unplug the internet; that is the whole point.
