VAT compliance

15% VAT applied line by line, with reports that prepare your return figures.

A sales chart with a trend line, a VAT percentage badge and a calendar with a date ticked

Standard-rated sales carry 15% VAT, while zero-rated and exempt supplies get their own tax treatments so they never blend into the standard figures. When the period ends, the VAT reports show totals for each treatment, which is what your return needs. Submitting the return to ZATCA remains your job: Fatooraz prepares the figures and does not file anything for you.

What you get

Standard 15% VAT on every line

The standard rate is set on your products and services, so each invoice line shows its VAT and the invoice shows the total. Neither a cashier nor an accountant has to work the tax out by hand.

Zero-rated and exempt kept apart

Some supplies, such as qualifying exports, are charged at 0% or are exempt from VAT. Giving each its own tax treatment keeps it out of the 15% total and visible in the reports. Your accountant confirms which treatment is right.

Reports ready for the return

Open the VAT report to see taxable sales by rate, zero-rated and exempt sales, and the VAT collected. Your accountant can take these figures straight into the return instead of rebuilding them from invoices.

Credit notes adjust VAT automatically

A credit note reduces the taxable amount and the VAT of the invoice it corrects, so returns and corrections flow into the same report and no manual adjustment is needed.

How it works

  1. 1

Set the tax on your products

Assign the 15% rate, the zero-rated treatment or the exempt treatment to each product or service once. Every later invoice and POS sale uses it automatically.

  2. 2

    Sell as normal

Each invoice and POS sale records the taxable amount and the VAT for every line, with no extra step for the cashier or the invoicing clerk.

  3. 3

Review the report, then file your return

Run the VAT report for your period and check the totals with your accountant, then submit the return to ZATCA yourself. The filing itself happens outside Fatooraz.

Frequently asked questions

Does Fatooraz file my VAT return with ZATCA?

No. You or your accountant file the return with ZATCA yourselves. What Fatooraz provides is the groundwork: its reports total your taxable, zero-rated and exempt sales and the VAT charged, so you copy reliable figures instead of building them in a spreadsheet.

Can I sell at 0% or VAT-exempt?

Yes. Zero-rated and exempt supplies each have a tax treatment separate from the standard rate in the reports. Deciding which treatment applies to a product or service is a tax decision, so confirm it with your accountant or ZATCA guidance before you assign it.

Which period does the VAT report cover?

You choose the dates, so you can run the report for the filing period your business follows, monthly or quarterly, and run it again whenever you need to verify a figure. ZATCA sets the filing period for each business, so check which one applies to you.
